OTH Tour Lawrence, KS 3/14/05
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 Where there's a will... there's a Denise... no, Denises! First... we got there early! Before 430p and there was already a little line started. I had signed up for a meet and greet thru Tyler's e-team (the Trackers) and got that so I was so excited!!! The sign did not have Joy's name so I called Tammy desperately worried!!! But a small bonus at the time in my mind was Bryan's name on the door! whoo HOOOO! Ok, so I go to the will call booth with the other "Trackers" (there were 2) and the people who won on the radio to get my little wrist band for the PRE show meet and greet. We got the girls situated up close by the stage and then went down for a PRE meet and greet. Tyler... oh how I love thee... ER wait, hello, hot Bryan in the hizzouse. Holy cow... that boy was looking so hot!!!!!!!!!! I get to Tyler first and apologize for the whole December Jingle Jam concert. LOL. Then I give him my little bag of roadtrip boredom busters (fun stuff) and he was so psyched! He called his dad over (BOB!!! his manager) and we chatted a little. I gave him the pic of the guitar to sign that will be my next tattoo. He seemed amused by that. Then I asked if we could get a picture because I need one of us for Tracker points. He says, "Of course" and his dad was all like, TOTALLY. His dad, BTW, is the coolest guy on earth. He made sure we got hooked up! Next I scootched over to Bryan. I pulled out my DVD insert and opened to the page with the cast on it... I go... "I think it is a gross injustice that you are not on this page!" He laughed and goes, "Want me to draw myself on there?" WELL DUH!!! Then I said I knew that Unscripted wasn't true, but if he hooked up with Krista I would totally have to send George Clooney a large number of emphatically upsetly written emails. He laughed and goes, *one eyebrow cocked* "You know its not real." Again, I think, well, DUH! My new nickname for Bryan... captain obvious!!! So he hands me the autograph and goes, "Sorry, he's a little skinnier," And I GO, "Yeah, well so are you this year " and of course he laughed again. They seemed to get a kick out of signing for one Denise after the other. LOL. I leave that for Denise1's post. I felt bad when I got to Michelle and Jessica... They signed my DVD cover (lame, I know) and I was all, Congrats to Michelle... ***NOTE*** Michelle Branch was freakishly nice. Like super sweet. I'm not a huge fan, but god, if I were a man, I so would have swapped spit with her!!! The guy then starts knudging me out when I was standing there waiting for D1. Bob Hilton sees and comes over and says that at the Post meet and greet he will be sure to get us pics with Tyler. (There were only like 25 ppl in line for the pre show... but they were like pit bulls about the cameras and stuff) Oh yeah... the concert...Bryan sang like 5 songs. He was really good. He was so amazingly hot. Tyler sang practically his whole CD! Plus a new song and another song that *bonus points for you all...* he intro'd by saying that most guys just want to be a hoochie coochie man!!! LMAO. he was so cute. Ashley was the only with a sign besides Becca (From the Tyler website) and Tyler totally saw her signs and gave her "the nod" lol. Or so Ash says... i couldn't see that well from the side. Some tall guy was in front of Ashley and MacKenzie, but after a gentle plead from me and then about 20 guys behind him saying, "Awwwe, come on dude" he moved aside to give up the front row to them LOLMichelle and Jessica sounded amazing. Michelle sang a couple of old tunes which I loved! I was so disappointed about joy still. I mean we didn't get to hear any of her stuff or get any Tyler/Joy duet... Bryan/Tyler duet... POST SHOW MEET AND GREET... So we were like almos last... and while waiting for our turn in line, we met Jacko and Joe who we got pics with... D1 took all the pics so we gotta wait for her. LOL. The line got held up at Bryan so Tyler and Jessica were just sitting there (the line curled around so it wasn't my turn but they were right there!). So, I mean, hey... I start talking to them! Jessica said Joy was filming. And I made Tyler laugh and clap with Tammy on the phone to hear. HEE HEE. Then it was our turn again. Ashley gave Tyler the pillow she made him in HOME EC (which he was so sweet and cute about... he totally loved it and showed it to everyone) and asked for a hug. He was so awesome. When we got in the car she said that his cheek was on her cheek and when he answered her question, he kind of whispered an uh-huh or yeah in her ear. (Awe my mini peanut had a moment!!!) Bryan gave hugs to the girls too and Ashley pipes up, I love Unscripted-even though I'm not supposed to watch it! Sure... bust your mother for letter you watch the R rated series! LOL (Wait, is it PG13 I hope) Ashley was dying to see Jessica so she could ask where her sweater was from. Awwwe. LOL. So my turn again, Bryan starts signing our autographs and realizes... hey... Denise...didn't I already???? So, while he signed Denise's or right before... I give the phone to him and ask if he will talk to Tammy... He gets all smiley and takes the phone! How hot is he... I nearly peed my pants!!! Tyler takes the Teen Vogue magazine I brought and is all, "What's this from" so we start talking about how long ago the picture was taken etc. It was soooo cool because we were at the end and totally got to talk for much longer than a lot of people. Plus there were 4 of us so we just pretty much moved in. LOL. Tyler was saying that he didn't even know about the prom date, until he saw that when it first came out. He was all, how weird is that, that I'm going to go to someone's prom with them!! ROTFLMAO. he didn't seem too excited, but was being totally cool. Denise1 was snapping some more pics of Tyler/Bryan and Jessica together and Bob said they would meet us on the side of the building by the tour bus because he could not take pics with people in the venue... we... and they were being rushed out. The workers there wanted us gone. LOL. So, we went around the side and Bryan comes walking by... says more hellos etc. Oh there are like 7 or 8 of us now... we 4 and the other other Tracker gals. Then Bob comes up with Tyler who was wearing his sexy- geeky- I love- and want to marry him- glasses. LOL. So, I blurt out without thinking... "Oh, yes! Those are your sexy glasses!" and he goes, "So these are sexy?" LMAO. He posed with me and D1/Ashley/MacKenzie and then we bailed after I chatted with Bob for a bit longer. His dad is so friggin awesome. I am so glad Denise1 could be here, but I am so sad no JOY! OH YEAH... the reviews that I printed out... we gave those to Bryan and I wrote a note on the cover, "If Mark can't come to Oz, then Oz will come to Mark. We miss the mastermind at Fanforum" (Or something like that) and Denise1 goes to Bryan... give this to Schwahn... then Bryan starts asking about FanForum. I'll let Denise1 finish up... When we met Tyler and Bryan they both mentioned Ashley and her signs and when Tyler signed Ashley's poster... it went like this...The original poster: Everywhere YOU (in red glitter) go, perfection! Then Tyler wrote: NO, YOU! underlined and stuff and signed it. IT WAS SO DAMN CUTE!!!!!!!! Denise3 **************************************************************** Hey guys So KC was lovely and so much fun getting to meet D3 and Mini D (my nickname for her daughter Ashley) and hanging out with my friend Mari and her husband and their kids. One constant word though: COLD!!! Now on to the concert...D3, Mini D and her friend Mackenzie and I get there early and while the girls are in line we go ask for the nearest convenience store cause my camera picked that day to have its battery die on me. Battery purchased, film in my pocket and pizza and sodas later and we were in line. No Joy on the poster, I was so bummed. I had really wanted to see her and be able to buy her CD. At least we got the greatest replacement in Bryan Greenberg!!! D3 got so lucky she got 2 red Pre-show meet and greet bracelets and she was so sweet and gave me one since I had traveled from Miami. (Mini D is the coolest kid for being such a good sport about it) We went in, I bought Tyler's CD and we all got green Post-show meet and greet bracelets. After leaving the girls close to the stage and with our jackets we got in line and since by then it was confirmed Joy was not gonna be there I went to go buy a OTH T-shirt for them sign but since I got a poster with it and the shirt is cute and I wanted to be able to wear it I put it away and instead had the poster ready to be signed. After 6:30 PM we were led backstage and while we were waiting for our turn we hear some girl already in the room scream, must have been when she saw them. D3 and I just laughed and shook our heads. Before we went in while 4 others were with them we are looking in and my first thought was: BG looked freaking HOT!!! So we went in, D3 handed Tyler his boredom [bus/road trip] bag and he loved it, signed her stuff and then it was my turn. Tyler was really nice, extended his hand to shake mine and asked for my name. When I said "Denise" he got a puzzled look and I was like, "yes we have the same name and yes we are friends" Tyler signed my poster by his picture and thanked me for coming to the show. Then BG, **sigh** he just looked HELLA HOT! He asked for my name and when I said it he went "D-E-N-I-S-E?" I'm like "Yeah" then he goes, "That's my mom's name!" And he smiled. Gorgeous smile! I said that then I had a cool name. He thanked me for coming and I mentioned I had come from Miami. He was so surprised and he goes "Miami?! What are you doing all the way over here?" Tyler heard him and goes "Florida, wow" I said I went to visit friends and go to the concert. Tyler asked his dad, Bob, if they were doing any shows in Florida and he said no. I told them that's why I traveled over there to see them. They were so sweet and thanked me for coming again. Afterwards they led us out through the outside (COLD!!! I had no jacket on) and then back inside. The show started and Bryan was just FABULOUS!!! He sang both songs he performed on OTH and then a few of his own, including "I sorta have a girlfriend" which he sang in Unscripted. I was humming along and when he got to the part they aired on "Unscripted" (I bet she's f-ing around on me, so I better f- around on her) people screamed, LOL. It was awesome. He is such a good guitar player and performer. I took a bunch of pictures, so lets hope they come out good. After his set they took a bit to set up for Tyler. BG came out with a bottle on his hand. He got the crowd going and then introduced Tyler. Tyler's set was so awesome. Very lively, he was very funny and so cool. He mentioned "Glad" was written after a foreign exchange student from Germany and the crowd laughed. He sang a blues song and joked around with the crowd and his band. Great performer!!! After a looong time setting up for The Wreckers, Michelle and Jessica came out. They both sounded fabulous! Michelle was so smiley and Jessica pointed out her family and friends were in the audience. They had the longest set of them all and sang awesome. I got mad though, at some point Michelle had to request something; some idiot was smoking! She asked for that person to please stop because she is pregnant and that smell really bothers her. What idiot thinks its ok to smoke in a crowded closed venue? Poor Michelle. Anyway, the concert was awesome, I had a blast, talked to Tammy on the phone at some intermission. It was great. Waiting for the Post-show M&G we talked to Jacko for a bit and got a picture with him. Then Joe came over and I got a pic with him too. D3 told him he had the coolest hair. Both guys were super nice! After a looong wait and having to smell the lysol or whatever they were using to clean the venue, we got to the table and BG, Tyler and Jess are there. BG was first and recognized me from the pre-show m&g. He said "Denise right?" I told him how I really loved him on "Unscripted" and have seen all the episodes. I asked if they were getting a second season and he said no; apparently it was only meant to be a one season thing. I told him I loved the coffee scene with his friends and he said "Oh Snaps" for me like on the show. He told me that Nick and Dragon are really his friends in real life and he got them a part on the show. I did not know that, that was great of him. The girl after me was named Rebecca and he looked at her and me and goes, "I got someone with my mom's name here (me) and now my sister's name, is there a C--- here? (Can't remember the name he said, must have been his dad's name) He smiled, so cute. D3 and I gave him the printout of this thread and he asked which website was it. (Time to post here too BG!!!) He said he'd take it back to Schwahn. Tyler called me the girl from Florida, lol, and signed his CD. Jess (who had earlier told D3 that Joy was not there cause she was filming) was so nice. Afterwards I hung around to get a pic of all 3 of them together. When everyone had gone I asked if I could take the pic and they all huddled up and I got my pic. Kelley, BG and Tyler were playing with the snap wrist bands you gave them. Oh and from when we got there we thought of just walking around saying "IDressInGold" figuring you'd be bound to reply, but it just sounded so silly, LOL. Sorry, we didn't have your real name. We saw BG walking to the bus, poor guy must've been hella tired. It was so cold outside. He said hello and then went into the bus. A few minutes later Tyler comes, sees this girl in only a t-shirt shivering and gives her his jacket for while we took pics, such a gentleman. And yes, he did look very good with his glasses on. His dad was a very cool guy, so nice and sweet to everyone. It was a great time, I had a blast and got back to my friend Mari's house late and then stayed up even later to pack. I've been up since 6:30 AM I had a lovely time with my friends and then at the concert, but after a long day of flying and waiting around in the airports, there is no place like home! I missed my family and my dogs, lol. Kansas City, you were good to me, I'll definitely be back to chill with my buds and go to another concert! Sorry I went so long, but I took a nap and now I'm wired, lol. Pictures to come in as soon as possible. Denise 1

I have so enjoyed reading everyone's updates at FanForum! Thanks Susan for starting that thread! Before the WB!!! ;) So, tomorrow night... MONDAY MARCH 14th LIBERTY HALL LAWRENCE, KANSAS has finally arrived! I have been so excited! I hope Tuesday night I will have time to come back here and update... It's an hour drive Monday night from my place to the concert and then I gotta work bright and early on Tuesday! It is sooo going to be worth it though! So, everyone watch for my updated blog... I'll see if I can't get Denise1 to get her butt over hear and post as well... hers will probably be later since she is flying home to Miami on Tuesday.
