The Lonesome Road ep2.18 airdate 4/26/05
Wednesday, April 27, 2005 Well, I don't even know where to start. Nathan gets a phone call from Taylor. Uh, why does she have his phone number? Oh, right... she had just spoke to Haley. (another conversation concerning her that we don't get any details on!). Whatever! So, you're driving home broken hearted and your sister or brother in law calls and you show up at their Coyote Ugly style bar in some back water town. Yeah, uh, no. I am glad that the fans didn't let me down with that whole Cingular uDECIDE thing. I hate that they did that... but I find that I have used their name (CINGULAR) more over the last week than I had in a lifetime. So, big whooptie doo to their marketing genius. And, about this phone call... my phone barely stays charged for a couple of days... how in the heck did Nathan get so much use... I sure hope he packed a spare battery or that the lighter in his P.O.S. car works so he could charge it. Would hate to think that Haley tried to call and couldn't get thru because of a dead cell phone. ABOUT HALEY... I posted this at FanForum, but it bares repeating... it is now OBVIOUS to me that the writers, or Mr. Schwahn himself, are purposely trying to leave us out of Haley's mindset. I mean, at first, I was like, "Great, these men have no idea what Haley would say so they just leave her speechless." But then I realized that it is an ulterior plot. We are not supposed to know where her head is at for some other reason. I mean HELLO?!?! Everytime they showed her, we could have gotten her voice... we know she has one, hell, we heard it enough in season 1. Let's discuss a few things that could have been played differently, shall we? These lend support to my "I know there's something going on" theory that I have been led into by my fellow Romantics.
Can you see a pattern? I'm so frustrated. All I wanna know is if it is over or not. You know... one way or the other just put us out of our misery. Other story lines... Sherlock Pippi and Watson... aka Batboy and Pigeon... aka Dick Tracy and Madonna (hee hee sorry, not really)... aka THE HARDY BOYS. I was totally giggling all night long. When Lucas tells Andy that there was money... and a ledger and captain obvious Andy replies... a ledger? Well, sure that would make sense with so much money. Ummm, ya think? And I don't know about you, but I can't think of a time when I opened a book and didn't catch at least one thing in it... Was the ledger just numbers and dates or was it blatantly obvious? Like, "March 13th, paid off that weird loser dude Chris Keller 10,000 total funds left one beeellion dollarz" Also... if Lucas took all those shreddings... will Dan not notice? I mean he walks into his office... "Didn't I shred a bunch of crap... Oh, guess our live in maid Rosita must have cleaned it, or pill popping Deb." Hmm. So, Lucas gets the shreddings and miraculously puts them together... a hot night spent on the kitchen floor of the Rowe house... Brooke and Lucas putting it together like a huge jigsaw puzzle. Brooke scratching her head and adopting the Pippi WTF face. Cut the sexual tension with a big ol' knife. Oh, Oliver North... you lucky bastard. Good thing there was no Lucas Scott around when you were in front of the committee! And Dan was sooo on to Lucas! Evil Dan is awesome, but I wonder who will get the priviledge of bringing him to his knees? I do have to point out one thing... someone has brought Dan down before and it was Keith and Deb... all the way down to a heart attack... and look at his revenge! You sure you wanna mess with that fire, Pippi? Brooke... taking over for Haley at Karen's Cafe. So, Joie officially is unemployed then? LOL. Sorry, I stole that from Mandie, I think... but it was so true! I won't even mention An... well, I can't type it or that would be mentioning it. Let's just say, easy come... easy go! buh-bye. Jake and Peyton. Jail glass "I Love You's." OK, so are these ILY's real? I mean, this is not more "false" feelings like we got in season 1 (that we only realize now because Lucas loves Brooke). She wanted to run away with him so they must be real... wait, didn't her and Lucas run away sometimes too... ok, so it was state line crossing, but they did like to go off together and be all broody. I believe Nicki. I don't think Jake is Jenny's father, but I don't think it matters. Jake has been raising Jenny and blood or not... she is his. I did get all sorts of misty eyed when Jake told Whitey the story of finding Jenny in the back seat of the car with Nicki passed out in the front. That was just sad. I wonder where Whitey is going to take Jenny to hide her? How is he at changing diapers? And isn't she onto Gerber strained foods yet? It can't be all about the bottles STILL! Hope Whitey's eyes don't act up... wouldn't want him to lose her. Time for my new segment... Observation of the week. LOL. This week it will be: So, Tric just remains dormant and closed? I mean is it a club that is only opened once a week? a month? Third Tuesdays? Just wondering. Andy is fitting in nicely eh? Anyone else in Tree Hill wanna take advantage of the rich guy? M.I.A. Denise1 and I are trying to get Tim Smith put on a milk carton. Where in the hell is that boy? And where has Mouth been during all of this Brooke leaving drama? I did love the flashbacks last week, but it doesn't mean that because we got hot N/H they can just shift us to the backburner. We need closure... or resolution... or a whole new episode of just flashbacks. LOL. ***Looking forward to the next Brother Centric episode.*** Special appearance by a little Lafferty named Stuart too, I hear. Hmmm. Can't wait. LOL @2:01 PM -- ravens23 [0 Followed the Rambling] 217 - "Something I Can Never Have" Sunday, April 24, 2005  Well, after a 6 weeks hiatus (Otherwise commonly known as hellatus) One Tree Hill was back, and boy, was it a rollercoaster ride of emotions! Overall I liked the episode, I give kudos to Mike Herro and David Strauss for finally giving us NH fans what we've ALWAYS wanted: At least the statement that NH do have sex like a normal newlywed couple. Herro and Strauss are my heroes for giving us those AMAZING flashbacks! Now, on to the brief commentary: Jake/Peyton/Jenny/and the incredibly annoying Nicki: Ok, my annoyance with S2 J/P is well known, but now throw Nicki into the equation? What court holds custody hearings that quickly? Hmmm, I guess NC is special. **rolls eyes** Poor Jenny, her father isn't making the best of choices and her mother is a slut. Can't they give temporary custody to Jake's parents? Oh wait, that would require for them to actually BE in the picture. Nevermind I guess. Brooke/Lucas: Ok, I am TOTALLY with D3 on this one. Lucass just makes my head hurt. So, the flavor of the week is now Brooke who he now loves dearly. Where was that love again when he got out of the hospital after his accident? Oh yeah, with Peyton. Hmmm. These 3 really are poised to become a creepy threesome. I personally don't care who he ends up with (Alone and living like a hermit sounds very appealing to me) but could we at least have more of a backstory to give his feelings credibility? Felix/Anna: I am SO ready for the Tagarro siblings to exit my screen. Stage left please! Felix definitely needs some courses from the "Dan Scott Evil Incarnate School of Crime and Deceit" he can't even vandalize school property properly. Fool! And Anna, well, I give her props for turning Felix in to the principal and later on coming out to her brother. It's not an easy conversation to have with family members. Still, they both need to go. They are using up precious minutes that could be used for higher purposes. **coughNHcough** Karen/Andy: It was great of Karen to give Keith the file on what she found out about Jules/Emily. It is only fair after having butt-in to his love life to leave it up to Keith to move on with his life, whether alone or with Jules/Emily, if he so chooses. Now Andy, I think he saw that cheesy reality show "The Benefactor", because now he is just handing out to the money to those in need (Jake). Really? How about helping Nathan pay his rent and getting him a decent car? How about donating money to the school so that they can paint Peyton's locker again? Hmmm. Well, he's still hot. 'Nuff said. Peyton/Brooke: It's almost comical having Brooke's parents actually give a damn about their daughter, but even more so to categorize Peyton as being a bad influence on Brooke, LMAO! **sigh** Clearly they took parenting classes with Deb Scott. Having Brooke move in with Peyton would've made total sense though, not moving in with Karen, her ex-boyfriend's mom. Uncomfortable much? Noooooo, it's just peachy. I hope Karen can buy patience pills. Keith/Dan: Ahhh, the second Scott generation. How great was their tussle in Dan's office? Ahhh Dan, so evil yet SO hot! I was lmao when he admitted he couldn't keep a straight face. Keith finally grew a pair, but I was pissed they used a different take for the "I've got nothing to loose" part. I loved it in the promos when he SCREAMED out "But YOU do!!!" It was so much more emphatic. Oh well, at least we got the fight. In the words of Paris: That was hot! Brooke/Charlotte (The Starlet: Michellynne Mc Guire): Ok, I was SO glad the "cameo" was very brief and only dealing with Brooke. Michellynne did well on her role. Sophia was so fabulous in this scene! I was lmao at the "Well, well, we have a nightly banjo duel, and then there's the cousins swap, and on friday nights we all take baths together". ROTFLMAO!!! Ahh, see? I love smartass Brooke! Please appear more often. Lucas/Karen: I think their scene at the cafe merits mention, only because it caused me to chortle; Pippi is now "Dan's one weakness"? LMAO!!! Yeah, dream on Lucass! You will always play second fiddle to your little brother Nathan. Besides, the person Dan loves the most in this world is DAN. Where do you think Nathan got that "looking at himself in the mirror" bit? Snow White? NO! Watching Daddy Dearest himself pay homage to the wonder looking back from the magic mirror: Who's the prettiest one of all? Why, it's YOU Danny Boy! Brooke/Felix: FINALLY! They broke up. I think this is the most interesting this couple has been. Ever. And last but not least... Nathan/Haley: Those 4 flashbacks will forever be burned in my memory and have a special place in my heart. I nearly fell off my bed at the sexy shower scene, specially when Nathan took off his boxers to join Haley in the shower. Being late never looked so sexy. Then the trip to Atlanta, man, he was so considerate of her feelings and that forehead kiss and that hug was so intimate. There is nothing he won't do to see her happy. Oh and when he bent over to get the bag from the closet? NICE VIEW! LOL. Then my favorite, the answering machine message. That scene was funny, cute, and sexy as hell! It's those little moments that I wish we could've had more of before this whole music debacle occured. That scene showed they are like any newlywed couple and it confirmed that theirs is not a Lucy/Ricky Ricardo life, Nathan and Haley DO have S-E-X! The shock! It was great. See? They don't have to show a mini porno a la J/P to show a couple in love and being intimate. Then the flashback to him carrying her over the threshold. **Sigh** I was in cloud nine. It was everything I had hoped would happen. He was sweet and sensitive to her needs and she was just happy and in love and totally hot for his bod. Now, how they ended the ep with that awkward visit and the shared I love yous, his assurance that he'd wait for her and then her confusion and saying she didn't know if she could be what he needed. It just broke my heart. It made those wonderful flashbacks so bittersweet, because they were once so happy and now, its just all so hard. Nathan is someone many of us girls wish for; loving, sweet, thoughtful. HOW is she all of a sudden confussed? He is everything I'VE been looking for and so far haven't found. I keep banging my head against the wall trying to think of where Haley's head is at. I read the theories and I just want to finally KNOW what she is thinking. I hope that comes soon, because watching them apart and without their wedding rings, and with that fabulous and very fitting song "What are you afraid of" by West Indian Girl, I just cried. Like their situation or not, this episode made me FEEL something, it made me laugh, it made me roll my eyes, it made me cry! That tells me my love for this show is still justified. Indifference would be the oposite, and I am FAR from that. I love this show, and I will watch it till the end. I just hope the angst eases up and NH can be happy again. And soon please, my little heart can't take much more! Next week, hmm, no comment. I did vote though. I guess it's wait and see. Later guys, and KEEP THE FAITH!!!
