"And All That Could Have Been" ep2.21 airdate May17,2005
Thursday, May 19, 2005
Well, well, well. Where do I start? I have no idea. I guess I could give a summary. It may not be the greatest. I'm in an "iffy" mood and I have a slow, boring day at work and there is nothing going on... its like 85 degrees (at least) outside and it is a cloudless beautiful day... and I'm stuck here staring out the window - ignoring any work that could be done- wishing this dang window opened!!!

I have visited all the websited and am caught up on current events and I guess I cannot put it off any longer.

**Continues to stare out window... more time passes...Tyler Hilton plays... birds fly by window... Gavin comes on the windows media player MSN radio in my ear... changes from staring out the window to staring at blank blog space...time passes**

I just don't know where to start. Can I skip this week? Can I "NOT" do a summary. I mean it was an ok episode. I didn't l.o.v.e. it but I didn't hate it either. Can I just refer everyone to FanForum and tell you to read Erin's review... it was the best, and I should ask her if I can just move it over here and give her a "guest poster" credit. LOL.

**Drifts back to staring out window... faces facts... there will not be a summary here unless D1 does it. (Polaris Plays!)**

What else should I waste space on today?
My Fandom - a photo blog. I was at the Tyler Hilton contest and decided to try my own photo blog. It's pretty cool. I post pics and it even holds videos too. It's like photobucket but better.
My Space - another Tyler blog thing that I was bored and signed up for. LOL. (What? Like you haven't spent bored time doing this before.)

OH, before I forget... Alias this week... disappointing.
Lost... WTF?
ER... hey... wait, ER is on tonight and there should be a lot of Shane West. God, I hope so... it only took them 22 episodes to remember they hired him! If Dr. Barnett does not get some good screen time, I might freak out.

Let's take this time to recap our tv schedule for the 2004-05 season that is ending now:
Sundays... Hmmm, NOTHING!
Mondays... tried a few new shows and then gave up on them.
Tuesdays... Gilmore Girls- Logan saved the show... although they could have held out longer on the Rory/Logan hook up. One Tree Hill- see all previous reviews (I just want more N/H, but I know I know Mr. Schwahn, "Keep the faith". Yeah, sell silly somewhere else today, I'm all stocked up!) American Idol- I said if Constantine got voted off I would not continue to watch and I meant it. I think its almost over... I wouldn't know... I haven't watched it!
Wednesdays... Lost- great title- because I am. Alias- no Sark, no show. The West Wing- I don't even recall anything happening other than Leo had a heart attack as chief of staff so I know, Let's make him the vice president. American Dreams- best show of the year but I think it is getting robbed by its promoter people. Law and Order- since Jerry Orbach passed, I haven't been faithful. Jack and Bobby- honestly after it left Sundays, I didn't watch... I mean, Wednesdays are jam packed!
Thursdays... The OC- god, what a waste of 22 hours I will never get back (well, I still have to see it thru to the end... any chance of all the characters getting shot?) ER- again, why have Shane if you ain't gonna pimp him?
Fridays... NOTHING
Saturdays... NOTHING

I keep waiting for the sites of the official schedules for next season to come out. I heard OTH is moving to, of all days, can you believe, WEDNESDAYS (see above schedule!!!) I hope a lot of things move or I may have to break down and buy a TiVo! And, I so don't want to do that!!!

Did I forget anything? Oh well, today is dead so if I feel like rambling more I'll just come back.
Signing out for now... Denise3

220 - "Lifetime Piling Up"

D1corner
Wow, real life can be a pain in the you know what! Work sucks and keeps me offline now. At least I have my favorite TV shows to entertain me and man, have things gotten GOOD lately! I absolutely loved, loved LOVED 219 with all its NASCAR drama and Hot Uncle Cooper. HUC now has a special place in my heart and I wanna work in his crew and check his gear! LOL. And Stuart Lafferty, man, "Stupac", he was awesome and I'd love to get the chance to see him again in Tree Hill. A truly great episode with AMAZING music.

And then 220, **sigh** I want to bow down at the altar of Schwahn for fighting TPTB and making this episode for the fans. It was fantastic, from the music old and new, to all the funny references and awe worthy moments. The ending made me cry, again. The Ray LaMontagne song "Hold you in my arms", man, it was so beautiful and fit so perfectly with all the final scenes. Music is a big part of why I love this show so much, but not just because they use fantastic stuff, but because of how they use it: to enhance the scene, not just as background noise. Now, on to the details...

One of the things I was hoping for in Bizarro OTH, a Nathan voiceover: "Douglas Adams once wrote: He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream, and he sometimes wondered whose it was, and whether they were enjoying it." It started the ep with a BANG for me.

Lucas/Dan/Karen: One "happy" family? I think not. Karen as the big hot shot business woman, Dan the weak alcoholic, and Pippi the jackass. Oh, wait, the last one, hmmm, I've seen him before. **coughcarouselcough** It seems regardless of who he married, Dan still had a crummy family life, he just bitched less with one than the other.

Nathan and his RC buds: Nathan Lee, lol, and wearing a "Deb's Den" sweatshirt. A great twist I never thought about. "Shoot for teams", they had the same great dynamic that Lucas and them had in the pilot. It's so nice to see how well the RC guys relate to Nathan in this AU. And Junk commiting a felony and opening Nathan's mail, lol. Ahhh, so great to see those guys. We've missed ya!!!

Peyton/Lucas: I thought we'd see at least a little bit of the good times with them (if only to please the LP fans) but I guess for storyline purposes it was best to keep the bickering up to support the break up. I was glad to see that at the scene where Lucas almost runs over Nathan, that Nathan still had an edge to him. Not even in dreams can he let go of it. At least at the part where Lucas put the "pedal to the metal" he didn't dream of Lucas' gnarly flip flop-wearing feet. We were spared this time!

Keith Scott Motors: LMAO @ the #1 Keith cardboard cut out. LOL. Ahhh, great stuff. I get a kick outta Dan's so why not with Keith's. And man was he a jackass to poor ol Danny a/k/a "Boozie".

Deb's Den: Hmmm, so in Nathan's dream his mom instead of a cafe has pretty much a tavern? LOL. Logistics causes me to question, can Haley be working at an establishment that serves alcohol being that she is under 21? Anyways, I was just glad Deb kept her girls covered. Thank godness for small favors! NH part with the ugly green hat reference: AWESOME! His suggestion to Deb to hire some girls to dance on top of the bar; hmmm, me thinks this is a lingering thought from the Taylor and co-workers dance that filtered in his dream or just his subconscious wanting Haley to perform said activity and enjoying the view. My vote is for the latter. Planetarium comment: "If you'd ever listen to me maybe you'd know that." Is that his subconcious acknowledging that he does in fact NOT listen to her? Quite a lot too, at least lately. I have to say I just loved Deb's comment: "You know you two are gonna end up married someday" ahh, I hope this AU feeling of hers so Pro-NH translates to regular Deb too. And Nathan's reply was great, "Keep dreaming" Yeah, if only you had kept dreaming there Nate! But I guess we'll get more on that towards the end.

Stalker Brooke: Well, can't really blame the girl much for wanting to check the merchandise; trouble is, it's not for sale. "Mister size 14" LMAO!!! Oh man, the scene was great in its own way, having a naked Nathan and then having him run the oposite way from her. Now if only his towel had dropped... Hmmm, now that should've been the Cingular vote! LOL

Lucas/Dan weights scene: Too bad Dan wasn't a prick in this AU, cause I'd have loved to have seen him push Lucas back down to force more weights on him like he did to Nathan. In this AU, Lucas gets off to easily.

Equal Oportunity Instigator Whitey: LOL, he cracked me up. And his trophy picture covering Dan's face was priceless! Man, I was just glad to see Whitey, he is so underused this season. Finally Barry is getting some screentime.

Nathan/Haley at the docks scene: Bless you Schwahn for this one!!! It was cute, funny, and totally had me giddy like a little kid hyped up on massive dosses of candy. We got poncho, random number tattoo reference, and that totally awesome cracker jack bracelet and "Don't say I never gave you anything" comment. **sigh** Even in Bizarro OTH, NH still have that cute flirty vibe going on. The little longing looks and coy smiles. Man, James and Joy were amazing all ep long!

Nathan/Whitey: basketball talk, did I mention I just loved that basketball was once again a BIG part of the show? Not to mention how even in his dreams Nathan acknowledges how important it is to him and how much he loves the game. And he even made refence to the fact that the game would take him to college. Its nice to know that at least in dreams, getting a college education is mentioned. Can we tell this bit to Pod Haley?

Karen/Keith affair: Holy smokes! I so did not predict that one! Funny how in both worlds Dan still gets cheated on. Though this Keith is mega creepy. He looked more like Lucass' father than Dan. Lucas knowing about the affair made me feel just a tiny bit bad for him. No kid should have to go through that.

Nathan/Haley classroom scene: How CUTE where they?! And I was LMAO that in his dream Haley was tonedeaf. Ahhh, if only!!! I was grinning from ear to ear at their smiles and at how they looked at each other. Regardless of what he said to his mom, he cleary feels more for Haley than he lets on.

Fauxdilocks Peyton and Haley: Yeah, smartass Haley gets major kudos for that Peyton jab. And I loved how Peyton told her to retract her claws, clearly jealous Haley was not something she wanted to deal with. And Haley honey, if everyone is always assuming you and Nate are an item, maybe there is some truth to it? Sheesh!

Nathan/Dan RC scene: Couldn't believe dan offered him money to not show up at the game. But then I cracked up at Nathan's comment of "Wife give you this week's allowance?" LOL. Nice to see no matter what universe, Nathan still retains his attitude and snarkiness. It's one of the many things I love about him. (Besides his expressive eyes, sexy pouty lips, cleft chin, nice abs, nice as... um, yeah, you get what I'm saying!)

Nathan's kidnapping scene: Ok, I gotta admit, first thing I thought when they took him out of the van was "Hey, that's Teddy!!!" (Dark haired b-ball player Brooke bid on but lost in S1) He was missing from the first Ravens at RC scene. Zack and him always stick out for me. How do I remember these things? Well, I remember cute guys. Like, Vegas, where is he now? Or was he just the male version of a basketball groupie and not an actual player on the team? Anyways, I was loving the Bros interaction. LMAO @ Nathan's comments to Lucas. L: "Seems you and me have something in common, we don't quit" N: (mutters) "You and I moron!" LOL, so Haley's excellent tutoring stays with him even in dreams. That or Lucas us just plain dumb in this AU. And Tim's wanting to take clothes off everyone they kidnap, LOL. Oh and Nathan's "Getting your jollies?" comment to Lucas at the cell phone grab, hmmm, I don't know about Lucas, but I would....ok, lol, gutter moment again. The things this guy reduces me to!

Peyton/Lucas breakup scene: I thought it was such a great job from production to have all those eyes cutouts from magazines on the wall, like they are watching her, just like the mural of all those people looking at her in real OTH. And the Peyton doormat drawaing, very nice! Lucas was of course an ass, what's new?!

Nathan vs. Lucas game: Nice to see that no matter what Nathan made an entrance in both worlds. I was waiting for the N.E.R.D. to start out with the whispering "I'm a dirty dog" like in the pilot, lol. Peyton got him there on time (nice to see no attraction to her either) and Haley was subjected to a "sweetie" comment by Lucass, Ew! The game was just as fabulous as the Pilot one, only this time Nathan wins. James is such a talented basketball player, it was so nice to watch his shots. Chia on the other hand, well, obvious double. At the end of it, "Rest in Pieces" blares and man, does it make me watch the Pilot all over again. I loooved the basketball scenes, I want more of them! Then he starts waking up and Lucass turns into Luke again and Haley tells him she loves him and then returns the bracelet/wedding ring, "Don't say I never gave you anything" and in the end Nathan is all alone calling out Haley's name over and over. This is when the waterworks started for me.

Nathan/Luke hospital scene: very nice Bros interaction. They have truly come a long way. Nathan's "Heaven was a place where Dan chose your mom over mine and Haley was tonedeaf" comment hit me very hard. He so very much wishes things were different. And great on Luke for calling Haley despite Nathan's request for him not to. I wanted to hear Nathan's answer to Luke's question of if the accident was on purpose. Will we ever know?

Nathan/Deb/Dan: "I love you mom", wow, I didn't think this was gonna be Nathan's first words to his mom. I'm glad he is gonna make the effort with her. Dan on the other hand, can't bring himself to come in.

Brooke, a/k/a Nancy Drew: a car receipt. Hmmm, I have a theory on that one, so we'll see how it goes. But finally, she put her time to good use.

Adults: Karen crying to Whitey over not finding Keith. I wonder where he is now. And Dan driving Deb to a clinic and telling her he'll be waiting for her; creepy! The adults are just as messed up as the kids.

Nathan/Haley phone conversation: How many times do I have to cry? As many as you have both the JLs giving a stellar performance and making me FEEL. Nathan saying to go after each other's dreams so as to have no regrets, no resentments and then letting her go, it just broke my heart. "Don't come home Haley, cause I don't want you to", Haley was just shocked afterwards, and I hope this is the kick in the butt she needed to see that she might actually REGRET loosing Nathan. Like D3 asked before, which would be the bigger regret, loosing the music, or losing the man she loves? She's gotta make a decision, and then live with it. I don't want her coming back just outta sense of duty, but because she loves him so much and she can't live without him any longer. These two have a long way to go in life, but is going alone really what they want? Love is a very powerful emotion and I'm hoping it wins out here, and soon, cause at this rate I think I should invest in Kleenex stock.

Two more Tuesdays to go and I cannot wait! Next one with the Karen/Dan kiss just left me speechless for a good while. Schwahn, kudos on the great ep, and may the next 3 eps bring us some enlightenment and some hot NH action. (What? A girl can dream can't she?)
